Job Description

Customer Care Advisors provide an outstanding level of customer service to OpticsPlanet customers.  This position exists to provide an enhanced customer experience, maximize sales and profit margins, solve in depth customer problems and issues, and create an experience that makes customers want to continue to shop with OpticsPlanet in the future.  Customer Care Advisors represent the company through each channel in all the best ways and in doing so, make customers happy with outcomes on a regular basis.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Grow and maintain an extensive knowledge of OpticsPlanet’s product offerings
  • Provide outstanding service to OpticsPlanet customers
  • Achieve upper-level sales results on a monthly and quarterly basis
  • Produce upper-level incoming contact results on a regular basis
  • Demonstrate and utilize sound problem-solving ability daily
  • Knowledge of company’s policies, website, internal systems, discounting empowerment, promotions, and departmental procedures
  • Communicate problems/issues immediately and through the proper channels
  • Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company’s discretion

Qualifications, Skills, and Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must type at least 35 words per minute with 95% accuracy or better
  • Excellent Customer Service skills
  • Experience with MS Office applications (such as MS Word, MS Excel), email programs, and internet browsers
  • Minimum of 2-years combined experience in retail, technical sales, mail order, internet sales, or customer service
  • Excellent written communication skills including spelling, grammar, and vocabulary
  • Knowledge of etiquette governing internet forums and chat communication
  • Patience, empathy, and friendliness in dealing with customers
  • Willingness to see customer issues through to resolution
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling technical products and services is a plus
